Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Beit Knesset App (the "App") provided by Yonatan Uzan ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The Service

The App helps synagogue communities manage prayer times, community membership, and a digital wallet used for community contributions and commitments (e.g. aliyot and other mitzvot). Features available to you may depend on your role within a community (such as member, Gabbai, or committee member) and on approval by your community's administrators.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
• You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are used for fraudulent or harmful activity.

3. The Digital Wallet

• The wallet lets you load funds and use them for community contributions and commitments offered by your synagogue.
• All amounts are shown in your community's currency. Wallet balances reflect funds you have loaded and any promotional bonus credits granted by your community.
• Promotional bonus credits may be subject to conditions set by your community and may have no cash value.
• Wallet top-ups are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
• Wallet funds are intended for use within the App for the purposes offered by your community. They are not a bank deposit and do not earn interest.

4. Refunds and Disputes

• Refunds, reversals, and adjustments are handled in accordance with your community's policies and applicable law, and may be initiated by an authorized community administrator (e.g. a Gabbai or committee member).
• For questions about a specific transaction or commitment, contact your community administrator. For technical issues, contact us at yoniuzan20@gmail.com.
• Refunds for wallet top-ups are handled in accordance with your community's policies, Stripe's applicable policies, and consumer-protection law. Report unauthorized or duplicate charges promptly to your community administrator and to us.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
• Attempt to bypass security controls, access data that is not yours, or interfere with the operation of the App.
• Misrepresent your identity or your role within a community.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the App except as permitted by law.

6. Community Content and Roles

Community administrators can manage members, prayer schedules, catalog items, and wallet adjustments for their community. You are responsible for your own conduct within a community. We are not responsible for the decisions or actions of individual communities or their administrators.

7. Account Deletion and Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes your associated data as described in the Privacy Policy.
• If you are the sole main committee member of a community, you may need to transfer that role to another member before your account can be deleted, so the community is not left without a leader.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Prayer times and other community information are provided for convenience and may not always be accurate.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yonatan Uzan will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

10. Changes to the App and Terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time, and we may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Israel.
